The Hands-On Manager

There's a GitHub account I can no longer log into. It was tied to my ClickUp identity. When I left, access went with it. But the contribution history is still public. Four years of it.

I was a manager that whole time. And yeah, I kept coding. Not to prove anything. Because the work required it. My teams were building platform infrastructure: developer tooling, internal frameworks, CI/CD systems. The kind of work where having someone with real technical context in the room makes a difference.

Time I spent coding was time not doing other manager things. I made that choice deliberately and I'd make it again. Staying calibrated on what's actually hard, what's risky, what's being underestimated is hard to fake and easy to lose if you step away from the work entirely.

Now I'm in a transition and I can't log into that account to show anyone. I just have the experience and whatever I build next.
